WebBackground/aims: The purpose of the present study was to examine variations in spleen size in adults. Methodology: The spleen volume was measured by computed tomography in 150 healthy donors for liver transplantation. The correlations between spleen volume and age, gender, body weight and body surface area were analyzed. WebMaximum splenic-vein flow velocity was measured in the splenic hilum region (gate: 50% vein diameter, insonation angle: ≤60°). The flow volume is acquired using the area × flow velocity × 60-s equation. The index was a division of SFV to PV flow velocity/speed (Sv/Ps).
